Rolling Over!

My baby decided this afternoon that she can roll over!

Front to back at 7 weeks and 5 days!

Just Like Daddy!

Yes, they both sleep like this.
This is actually fairly reserved though for both of them.
Claire's arms are usually a bit more above her head. And Peter's body is usually a bit more angled toward my side of the bed.

I love my family!

Morning Smiles

Miss Claire knows and LOVES her mommy!

When I come in to get her out of her crib in the morning, she has started to greet me with the sweetest little smiles!

She also likes to talk talk to me. (I realize that it's probably a little long and that she does start crying at the end, but it was so darn cute because it wasn't quite crying yet. She was just telling me about how hungry she was getting)

Working Out

This morning our family went to work out together at 6 AM (Claire was already awake and ready to go!)
We support the Y unless they're playing USU or the U :)
It was a hard workout--Claire was just plum tuckered out!

Blogging Hiatus

So, we were blessed to have friends and family help us with meals and cleaning for the first month of Claire's life.
Now that they are gone I'm supposed to take care of the baby and myself all on my own.

Somewhere in this time I missed the lesson on how to continue your life while raising a baby!

I have such a hard time prioritizing things and getting them done in that order.
The condition is accentuated when I get online--say to blog--and get stuck on FB!

So, this is the beginning of a blogging hiatus of indeterminable length.
I will try to post at least once a month, but until I get some random projects done, blogging will be on the back burner.
With only two 1-hour blocks to work with every day it's hard to choose between projects, computer time, and nap time.

I'll try to make Peter blog, but honestly, it might not happen.

Until next time!

Newborn Photos

Here they are!

You might have been waiting anxiously to see these.

We were really lucky to have gotten such a patient photographer.

For a small studio, this was an awesome deal!

And they turned out so cute!

It helps when your baby is freaking adorable!

Claire's Blessing Day

Sunday September 4th, 2011 our little Claire Annette was given a name and a blessing by her daddy.

What a happy day!

Peter's parents were able to be here with us.

Claire wore the same dress that I was blessed in, and she was ADORABLE! (of course!)

Peter's dad stood in the circle with him along with our friend and home teacher Paul.
The blessing was simple and sweet.
We actually recorded the blessing so Claire can look back at it once she can appreciate it.

Peter bore his testimony and expressed gratitude for the two cutest girls ever! :)

One Month!

Our little Miss Claire turned one month old last Saturday.

It's hard to believe that she has been in our lives for over 31 days!
I'm still getting used to having her around, but it's certainly more real now.
And just as I'm getting used to having her she's changing!

Just 48 hours old leaving the hospital

She had her one month check up today.
In 37 days she has grown to be:
10 lbs 11 oz
22 in long
38 cm head circumference

She's HUGE! She is in the 75 percentile for her age.
  • She takes baths in her little tub

She still hates having her hair washed--she screams every time! But she loves feeling the water and is happy when she's clean and dry.

  • She is a really calm baby. With a rare exception, she only fusses when she wants something.
  • She gave me her first waking smile on Monday morning. I kissed her little cheeks and nose, and she graced me with a smile!
Ahhh--what a happy moment! It hasn't really happened since, but it will come.
  • She's really good at holding her head up while you're holding her. Her whole body falls to the side when she gets tired now rather than her head falling to her chest or backwards (most of the time).
  • We call her Claire, Miss Claire, Little Girl, Claire-Bear, and Girly Pearly
  • She sighs with each breath while she sleeps. (Cute now, YES! An early sign of snoring? Hopefully not!) At least I know she's breathing!
  • She watches me and follows me around when she can hear me talking--she knows her mama! (and her daddy :) )
  • She usually sleeps for at least one 5-hour stretch in the night. It's not too bad.
  • She is a VIGOROUS eater! Her mouth flaps wildly when she knows food is coming. There is nothing casual about meal-times for her!
  • We've started introducing a bottle just so I can have a break occasionally. So far, it's been ok.
  • We give her tons of kisses each day.
