A trip to Monterey Bay

Today we went and visited Monterey, California.

It was a beautiful day.

I just think this is funny.

 

We ate some yummy fish at Crabby Jim's on the Fisherman's Wharf. Claire actually ate the fried fish we ordered for her, and she inhaled the potatoes. I don't blame her, they were delicious!












We then headed to the aquarium.

Claire had fun looking at all of the fish until they actually came up to her. When the fish got close to her, she would always squirm to get away. Funny girl!

It's dark in the aquarium, so it's hard to get good pictures. But Claire is cute!

Claire is scared of fish.

But she unknowingly touches them.

After about 30 minutes of looking at the big tank of fish, we decided that Claire needed a nap and tried to go on the 17 mile drive. Claire quickly fell asleep, but we realized that it cost $16 to go on a road through the woods and along the coast. So we decided to follow Highway 1 instead for a FREE scenic drive. We went down to Carmel and saw some amazingly large and pricey houses on the cliffs. It was a really beautiful sight.

Then we headed back to the aquarium to enjoy the sea otters, the jellies, and the seahorses.

Fish are pretty cool.

Claire enjoyed running around like a crazy kid. She was pretty good though. She wasn't too interested in just standing around and looking though. But honestly, what kid actually wants to do that when there's more than double the running room you're used to?!
