About a month later, Claire's number of words has EXPLODED! Just TWO weeks ago she started trying REALLY hard to communicate her needs, wants, and intentions verbally. She has since then started mimicking many of the words that we say and we successfully understand several of them! Honestly, the all sound VERY similar. So mostly, it's about context. But here is an update of Claire's current vocabulary.
Uh Oh (uh!)
Poo Poo (Po Puh)
Belly Button (buhde buhde ta)
Peanut Butter (Peede pbe da)
I did it (ah-di-dit)
Up (uh, uh, looking up)
Hot Dog (dot-dahg)
Chocolate Chip (dah-da-dip, or da-kip)
Grape (bap)
Pickle (pipple)
Here's a little video of her saying "bye bye," one of the first words she started saying a couple weeks ago when she really started trying. This video was taken on Wednesday the 18th and she had just started saying "bye bye" the Saturday-or so- before that.
